Co-ordinators at Bethel: Mrs Michelle Timperley coordinates the Infants/Primary Department and Mr Phil Maas coordinates the Secondary School.
Mrs Michelle Timperley B.Ed M.Ed
Mrs Timperley began teaching at Bethel in Term 2 of 1996, taking a composite 5/6 class. Since then she has also taught Year 1, Year 4 and Year 6.
Mr Phil Maas
When Mr Maas was approached to come work at Bethel at the start of 1995, it was in the role of a Bible and Life teacher, however as soon as it was discovered that he was also musically trained, the position moved to occupying both positions in a part-time capacity. He recalls “The job offer was actually an answer to prayer. I had taken a break from full time teaching and this fitted in well with the other ministries I was doing at the time. Plus it allowed me to pursue my degree at Bible college as well”.
His teaching position continued to grow until Mr Maas undertook a full-time position at the school, adding Computing Studies to the list of subjects that he taught. He moved into the role of coordinator in 2002 and is now responsible for students in years 9 and 10 as well as a certain amount of administration. His vision? “God has already told us that we, His bride, are to be one Church. To that end we all must labour. This next generation that we teach must be equipped and ready to meet the wave of circumstances that will come; armed and ready in the name of Christ, and all of us who are older will answer to Christ as to how we helped them to this goal. I hope and pray that we are up to the task.”
