It is a privilege for me to introduce Bethel Christian School to you.

The school commenced over 27 years ago and provides an education for students between Kindergarten and Year 10. The school is a ministry of the Church of the Foursquare Gospel  (Australia) NSW but students from all denominations are accepted on the basis outlined below. The school is fully registered and accredited and offers studies leading to the award of the School Certificate based on syllabus documents provided by the Board of Studies NSW. Bethel Christian School is also affiliated with ‘Christian Schools Australia.’ The school has deliberately remained small so that a family atmosphere can be maintained amongst members of the school community.

The word ‘Bethel;’ in the school’s name has special significance for it is taken from the Bible. Bethel was the name of a place where God made Himself known to a number of people in the Old Testament, one of them being Jacob. At Bethel Christian School we want our students to get to know God and His Son, Jesus Christ. We want our students to grow more like Jesus each day and live out the example that He taught in the Bible.

This does not mean that we indoctrinate students by forcing them to believe the Bible. Rather the school tries to model the Christian life by seeking to develop loving caring relationships amongst all members of the school community. We also encourage students to live out their Christian faith. This means that we study the Bible to find out how God wants us to live out our lives in the 21st century. To help in this process we seek to teach all subjects, including Mathematics and English from a Christian viewpoint.

In addition to the normal school subjects the school curriculum includes a Bible and Life program and weekly chapel services. The school also engages in inter school sporting activities. We encourage students to participate in Australia wide subject competitions including English, Mathematics and Computing Studies.

Our school has an open enrolment policy. This means that we don’t only accept children from church going families but rather we accept children whose parents accept our Statement of Beliefs which is written in the school’s application form  and want their children to be taught according to the beliefs and values. A condition of enrolment is that students participate in all school activities appropriate to their age and abilities.

We also try to make education at Bethel Christian School affordable to all. Therefore, rebates on fees are available to parents who have genuine need.

Facilities at Bethel Christian School include a science laboratory, visual arts room, computer room and fully equipped wood and food technology rooms.  Plans are presently being prepared to upgrade school buildings. We also have programs which cater for special needs.

If you would to find out more about our school do not hesitate to phone the school to arrange a visit or ask for an enrolment form to be sent to you.

I look forward to hearing from you!
